Stay Between the Jungle and the Sea in Belize
Stay in a beachfront cabana in Placencia and enjoy Caribbean breezes, local flavors, and adults-only relaxation just steps from the shore.
OUR STORY
After a decade of vacationing in various regions of Belize, we stumbled upon the enchanting Placencia Peninsula and instantly fell for it, especially Maya Beach.
Our initial stay was at a charming resort featuring eight secluded cabanas nestled beside an exquisite beach. It goes without saying that we returned to Placencia annually, always choosing to stay at the Green Parrot.
Fast forward five years to 2020, when we learned that the Green Parrot was up for sale. We thought, “Why not?” Our love for this place made us feel like we had truly uncovered paradise.
ALWAYS IMPROVING
As the new owners of Green Parrot, we look forward to showing everyone who stays with us how special Green Parrot is. This is why we have updated the facilities to create the retreat that we all want from our tropical vacations.

VISITORS GUIDE
To have the most fun in Belize, make sure that you travel light, but be sure that you bring what you need.
**CLOTHING**
Belize boasts a laid-back atmosphere, making casual summer attire and a lightweight windbreaker ideal. For jungle excursions, be sure to pack a long-sleeved shirt, breathable pants, comfortable shoes or tennis shoes, wet socks, and a hat.
**COMMUNICATION**
It's advisable to consult your cellular provider regarding an international plan.
**SNORKELING**
While we encourage visitors to bring their own snorkeling gear, we do provide equipment during tours.
**CURRENCY**
The Belize dollar is linked to the US dollar at a rate of 2 to 1, meaning you receive $2 Belize for every $1 US. US cash is the most practical option. All major credit cards are accepted for tours, meals, and resort purchases. Each individual may bring no more than $10,000 US into the country, so be sure to confirm that your credit card incurs no foreign transaction fees.
**ARRIVAL**
There are two ways to reach our Resort.
Option one involves taking a local hopper flight, which takes around 25 minutes from the international airport to Placencia, where our shuttle will greet you and transport you to the resort. This transfer is included in the price if you book your flight directly through the Resort. If you arrange your own local flights, we charge $25.00 USD per transfer (for both arrival and departure). Don’t hesitate to ask about local flight costs and availability; we’re happy to assist with bookings.
Option two is a land transfer from Belize City Airport, offering a breathtaking journey through picturesque mountains and scenic farmlands. This option incurs an additional fee and involves a 3-hour drive. Please reach out to us for pricing and availability details.
Belize operates on Central Standard Time (CST) throughout the year.
While many divers prefer to bring their own gear, equipment is available on all tours.
No immunizations are necessary for entry into Belize.
We do not provide trip insurance.
